Lady luck?
A male blue bird of paradise returns to his favourite branch and begins his unusual display. He stops briefly as a female comes down to take an interest in his dance, and with renewed vigour he begins his display again. The pulsing of his body and feathers changes to a subtle low buzzing. This unearthly sound is only made when a female is present and is unlike anything found elsewhere in the bird world. Moving closer without actually touching him, the female seems to study every feather of his vibrating body, but she seems unhappy with something and flies away. It is an unfortunate end to his beautiful display after so much effort.
