The Story of Slapstick charts the history of the world's most popular comedy genre. Whether you're three or fifty three we all seem to love physical humour. It doesn't matter if they're slapped, banged or walloped, there's a simple glee in the misfortune of others. Graeme Garden, Bill Oddie and Tim Brooke Taylor banded together to create a comedy trio called The Goodies who would do anything, anywhere, anytime. In this clip they nod to the era of silent slapstick and give it an energetic Goodies twist. They brought big budget stunts, set pieces and a dash of surrealism to TV creating cartoon sequences of slapstick that all the family could enjoy.
