Elephant funeral
The largest and most dominant herd of elephants in the reserve have come to investigate the body Masai Girl, the unfortunate elephant who died in the river. Elephants' fascination with their dead is something that has long been recorded by scientists, it seems they may mourn just like humans. Communication between the herd is restricted to subtle expressions of movement and touch, smelling the air around the body and surrounding area. As the herd moves on, one young bull remains, more curious than the others. He is the only elephant to touch the body taking in vast amounts of information which we cannot hope to understand.
