Emily is a mid-twenties nurse, set in her ways and content with her structured world. She covets her studio apartment and its peacefulness. Jay is a free-wheeling musician, loud, spontaneous and uncomfortable. When the pair finds themselves living on opposite sides of the same wall, a clash is inevitable.
The constant sounds of Emily and Jay through the wall proves at first an irritation. Neither is emotionally equipped to confront the other, and so the frustration is played out in noise alone.
They become increasingly drawn to each other's antics; intrigued even. They begin communicating, playing and joking through the wall. But after a terrible aural misunderstanding, the silence is deafening, and someone has to break the barrier.
