Governments across the world are expressing a new interest in nuclear power. So how big a role can it play in any solution to climate change?

Nuclear power appears to be back in fashion. A decision in Germany to limit the life of its nuclear power stations seems likely to be reversed; the Indian prime minister Manmohan Singh has recently been singing its praises; and the United Arab Emirates sees it as the way to meet its increasing demand for electricity. So has nuclear power come in from the cold? Here's Louise Hidalgo.
