Mental illness places a huge burden on the economy - so why isn't it given the same resources as physical conditions?

Studies by the World Health Organisation suggest that by 2030 depression is likely to become the health condition which causes the biggest economic burden worldwide. But compared with many physical illnesses, including heart disease and HIV/AIDS, depression and other types of mental illness are still hidden and underfunded.
