Climbing lesson
Spectacled bears live in the Andean cloud forest. They are the only species of bear to live in South America, and are rare. Spectacled bears are good at climbing, because there are not many types of monkeys in the cloud forest, so the bears can exploit the foods that monkeys would normally eat. A bear cub tries to follow his mother up a tree, but he is rather clumsy at climbing and needs more practice. The bears eat bromeliad plants up in the treetops, enjoying the fleshy base of the leaves.
