To celebrate Michael Stipe’s 65th birthday, the story of his band from Athens, Georgia, who played live and gave interviews on the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ from 1984 until they broke up in 2011.

To celebrate Michael Stipe’s 65th birthday, the story of the band REM - formed by four friends from Athens, Georgia - who recorded music, played live and in session, and appeared in interviews on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ programmes from 1984 until they broke up in 2011.

This new compilation of archive interviews and key tracks comes from decades of broadcasts with Michael Stipe, Bill Berry, Mike Mills and Peter Buck, talking to producer Mark Hagen, Radio 4’s Kirsty Lang, Whistle Test’s David Hepworth and Richard Skinner, Jools Holland, Simon Mayo, Matt Everitt, Mark Radcliffe and Jo Whiley. It includes Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ live concert and session performances at Glastonbury, St. James’s Church Piccadilly, Whistle Test and Later. Plus sessions for Mark & Lard, John Peel, Into The Night and Radio 2 Drivetime. These originally featured on albums including their debut Murmur, Reckoning, Lifes Rich Pageant, Document, Green, Out Of Time, Automatic For The People, Monster, Around The Sun and their final compilation Part Lies, Part Heart, Part Truth, Part Garbage 1982-2011.
