Kin’emon recounts the story of Kozuki Oden, Momonosuke’s father and the former daimyo of Kuri. Oden was exiled from Flower Capital because of his unruliness but went on to turn the lawless land of Kuri into a prosperous town. His father, then-shogun Kozuki Sukiyaki, gave him the title of daimyo of Kuri. However, Oden was killed in a plot by Kaido and Orochi, who lit Oden Castle on fire. Kin’emon, Kanjuro, and Raizo rushed to the castle to save Toki, Momonosuke, and Hiyori, Oden’s wife, son, and daughter. With her Time-Time Fruit ability, Toki sent Kin’emon, Kanjuro, Raizo, O-Kiku, and Momonosuke 20 years into the future where they found Wano Country to be a completely different place from what they knew it to be.
