Kathleen Jamie, Rachelle Atalla and Simon Stephenson

Len Pennie talks to Kathleen Jamie about her collection of poems in Scots, plus new books from Rachelle Atalla and Simon Stephenson.

Len is joined by a trio of writers who are each taking on something different in their latest work.

Author Rachelle Atalla writes dystopian speculative fiction: her third novel, The Salt Flats, is set on a claustrophobic wellness retreat in Bolivia. However, for Book Week Scotland, she's been tasked with writing about hope.

Novelist and screenwriter Simon Stevenson talks about his first book for children, The Snowman Code, about a little girl called Blessing and a grumpy snowman called Albert Framlington.

And poet Kathleen Jamie tells Len about her book The Keelie Hawk, featuring poems in Scots, and her own English translations.
