Jackie Bird hosts Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Scotland’s annual Children in Need appeal, which sees Radio Scotland take on the Thousand Mile Challenge.
Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio stations across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland unite in a mammoth effort to attempt to swim a combined total of 1,000 miles in just five days for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Children in Need.
Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Scotland presenters, including Michelle McManus, Gary Innes, Zara Janjua and Jane Lewis, swap their microphones for their swimming costumes and take the plunge to swim one mile a day to contribute to the team’s total for the Thousand Mile Challenge. Helping them through the challenge and offering expert advice is Olympian and Scottish swimming champion Ross Murdoch.
The reason for the challenge is highlighted through moving stories from Beau and the difference music has made to her life at Granton Youth and the Ladybird Group, which offers much-needed respite to families in Lossiemouth.
