England were huge favourites when the two nations met in the last four of the Rugby League World Cup two years ago, having won the group game against Samoa by 54 points. It was the Pacific Islanders, however, who had the last laugh, shocking the tournament hosts in golden-point extra-time to reach a maiden World Cup final.
Shaun Wane’s side will look to set that particular record straight as the two-Test series gets underway in Wigan on Saturday, although it will be no easy task against a Samoan outfit stacked with talent from the NRL.
