Day of Dance

Tom McKinney showcases the best performances from the UK and beyond, focusing exclusively on dance-inspired music and including a live concert from the Arnolfini in Bristol.

Tom McKinney showcases specially recorded performances of dance-related music from great performing groups from Europe and around the globe.

Part of Radio 3's Day of Dance, today's programme includes a special live concert from the Arnolfini in Bristol featuring current ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ New Generation Artists the Kleio Quartet and pianist Julius Asal, who performs music from Prokofiev’s ballet Romeo and Juliet. We’ll also hear orchestral dances from Ravel and Rachmaninov, and music from Amilcare Ponchielli’s opera La Gioconda – the famous Dance of the Hours.
