Arlong, enraged about Tiger’s death, goes off on his own and attacks the Marines, but he gets arrested by Vice Admiral Borsalino, later to be known as Admiral Kizaru. During the interrogation, he lies about Tiger, saying he died because humans refused to give him a blood transfusion. The news about Tiger’s death and its alleged reason spread around the world, but Jinbe writes to Neptune and Otohime to let them know the truth. Meanwhile, Otohime continues, unsuccessfully, to get the islanders to sign a petition about their immigration to the land above the sea. Then the Government, who deems Jinbe a great threat, offers him a position in the Shichibukai, which he accepts for his fellow fishmen. Arlong is granted clemency and is released from prison, and violently disagreeing with Jinbe’s way, he and his former crewmates take off on their own, as do Macro and his group. The Sun Pirates are now split up into three factions.
