Adam Henson and Charlotte Smith are in Biggar, South Lanarkshire, at the 2024 International Sheepdog Championship.

For weeks, hundreds of handlers and sheepdogs around the UK have been trialling in a series of national and international competitions to be whittled down to the cream of the crop. Just 15 competitors then face the ultimate test, where the most skilful sheepdogs and handlers from all four nations of the UK compete to be crowned the supreme champion.

Charlotte meets the first and only woman to win the Supreme to learn the intricacies of the trial course and meets the handlers and dogs competing.
