From Venice, Emma Jones reports on the adulation actor Angelina Jolie received for her portrayal of the celebrated late opera star Maria Callas in the picture Maria.

In Telluride, Tom Brook hears from UK film-maker Kevin Macdonald, who has put together One to One: John & Yoko, a portrait of John Lennon and Yoko Ono in their early years in New York.

Also, movies appearing at the Toronto, New York and London film festivals are covered by the team, including Oh, Canada starring Richard Gere, as well as a sombre documentary called The Invasion which examines the impact of the war in Ukraine on the home front.
