Episode 4

Banjo and his team are making over a wool and craft shop on the small island of Iona. The owners want a minimalist Scandinavian design. Will his risky approach wow the owners?

Artist Mike and his teacher wife Kate moved to Iona 20 years ago. They now run Iona Wool, which sells ethical local wool products. Their shop is functional but could do with some Banjo design magic.

The beautiful colours of their stock mean that they don’t want much colour, which is a challenge for Banjo, whose designs are often dark and richly coloured. Banjo comes up with a modern Hebridean design idea which he hopes will keep selling the gorgeous woollens but also warm up the shop with some fun design features.

Banjo heads to Glasgow to his favourite salvage shop and buys dozens of bobbins from old wool mills to help with his design. His trusty team of local tradespeople help him realise his design vision. Meanwhile, Lisa makes woollen lampshades, and Eoghan builds a woven timber wall to hide a changing room.

With little time and only £6,000, will Banjo’s shop transformation hit the mark?
