Alan Parsons
Alan Parsons picks his Rock God, and Johnnie marks 60 years since the 'first' real 'rock' track hit No.1 in the UK!
At the age of 18, Alan Parsons managed to get himself a job at Abbey Road studios as an assistant engineer. That job saw him through legendary recording sessions for albums such as the Beatles' 'Let It Be' and Pink Floyd's 'The Dark Side of The Moon'. Alan went on to carve out his own successful recording career in the world of prog rock, with The Alan Parsons Project. Millions of record sales later and 13 Grammy Award nominations later, he's still active.
Alan's 1978 album 'Pyramid' has just been given the deluxe reissue treatment, and to celebrate, he's choosing his Rock God for us this week.
Also on the programme, Johnnie's got a lesson in Rock history for 'This Week In Rock' - the first real 'rock' record hit No.1 in the UK this very week, sixty years ago. Bringing things bang up to date for 2024, Johnnie will also mark the return of Linkin Park.
