The third group of celebrities are braced for culinary battle as they take on the MasterChef kitchen. All five will have their work cut out if they want a place in this week’s quarter-final.

The familiar faces taking on the momentous challenge this week are TV personality Jake Quickenden, model and TV personality Christine McGuinness, actor Tamer Hassan, comedian Jamie MacDonald and model Emma Thynn.

The first test of their kitchen prowess will be Under the Cloche, with each celebrity aiming to cook up a storm using a mystery ingredient. Hidden gems include figs, white sausages and hake, so there’s plenty of scope for being creative. Winning over John and Gregg won’t be easy, and first impressions count.

Those who fail to make the grade will get a final chance to wow, as all five celebrities will be cooking their dinner party dishes for the judges - two plates they’d be proud to serve at home to their friends and family. Will they play it safe, or add a few extra flourishes to show off? Nobody will want to leave their diners underwhelmed.

The party will end with an untimely departure for one, leaving the best to cook another day.
