On a day that finally offers hope for peace in Northern Ireland, a teenager working at a Belfast cinema finds that not everyone is so optimistic about an end to the violence.

Dawn Watson was born in Belfast and is a poet and writer. She is currently a Lecturer in Creative Writing at Queenβs University, Belfast. Dawnβs debut collection We Play Here was a Guardian Poetry Book of the Year 2023 and was shortlisted for the John Pollard International Poetry Prize for an outstanding debut collection. Dawnβs work has been broadcast on ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 4, ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 3, and ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Ulster, and has appeared in leading literary journals including The Poetry Review and Granta.
