A braid takes a day; Career change
For 28 year old journalist Zainab Boladale writing a novel was something she dreamed of since childhood. Her Debut novel "Braids Take a Day" follows the story of Abidemi Benson, a black Irish woman on the verge of adulthood who embarks upon a summer of self-discovery after completing her Leaving Certificate. Zainab chats to Caoimhe about the inspiration behind the novel and what it was like growing up in County Clare.
A new inititive starts in September aimed at encourage women to pursue careers in the hospitality and tourism sector.
Helen Crickard from Women Breaking Barriers and Roisin McKee of Hospitality and Tourism Skills network joins Caoimhe to chat about the new four week course designed to help teach skills and build confidence in women.
