Jamz celebrates the women in Soundsystem, exploring their importance in the past, present, and future. Jamz chats with Notting Hill's first female DJ, Soundsystem specialist and one of the curators of Beyond the Bassline, Linett Kamala. The episode also features contributions from Black Obsidian Soundsystem, a collective and sound system based in London, UK, focusing on supporting and amplifying the voices of marginalized communities, particularly Black, queer, trans, and non-binary people. Additionally, the episode includes insights from Leeds-based Dub Selectas and Sound system supporters Lioness Power, as well as the Coventry trio, Sisters in Dub, the London-based father and daughters Killerwatt Soundsystem, Montreal-based DJ and producer Honeydrip who is currently building a Soundsystem, and Rusty Rebel, the first woman in the UK to own a Soundsystem.
