The Journey to Scotland's Remotest Pub

Two friends take on a journey to Scotland's remotest pub, interwoven with stories from some of the residents of the magical Knoydart peninsula.

Documentary that tells the story of the inspiring, thriving, Scottish village of Inverie on the Knoydart peninsula. Twenty-five years ago, the local community pulled together to buy the land from private owners, securing its future for them and the many who travel there.

At the heart of the village is the community-owned pub, The Old Forge. But for those who wish to visit, it's a 30-mile, three-day trek through three munros, or a ferry from the mainland. In the summer months, only around five people a day take the high road to get there, for the incomparable hike and views. They well and truly deserve their pint when they arrive!

We follow friends Ally and Glynis as they take on the treacherous journey to Scotland's remotest pub, interwoven with stories from some of the residents of this magical peninsula. One of them, Will, visited for a weekend 13 years ago and never left, such is the draw of this place that is known as Scotland’s last great wilderness.
