This week, Manchester-Irish group The McGoldrick Family play live in session.
Featuring renowned pipe and flute player Michael McGoldrick, the group also includes Mike's nieces Ciara McGoldrick (concertina and vocals), Catherine McGoldrick (flute and whistle) and Mairead Hussey (bodhrΓ΅n). Jimmy Patrick joins on guitar.
Mike's parents, Brendan and Teresa, brought traditional Irish music with them when they moved to Manchester from Galway and Mayo.
With music in the blood, Mike's own career has included famous work with Flook, LΓΊnasa, Capercaillie, Sharon Shannon, Mark Knopfler, the Transatlantic Sessions, UsherΚΌs Island and a trio with John McCusker and John Doyle.
