Let's Move It: Live Caber Tossing from Bute!

Vern attempts his Let's Move It challenge of caber tossing - live from The Isle of Bute. Singer Tom Walker and Gladiators Steel and Sabre will join him for Highland fun.

Live from Rothesay - home of The Bute Highland Games - this morning Vernon will be attempting to toss the caber as his own personal challenge for Let鈥檚 Move It, Radio 2鈥檚 six-week initiative designed to get the nation moving and a bit more active this summer. Gladiators Steel and Sabre will be there too, to provide strength tips and show support. There'll also be live music from singer Tom Walker.

Following two weeks of training and preparation on his 鈥楻oute To Bute鈥�, this challenge - on the Isle Of Bute on the West Coast of Scotland - will be the finale of 'Let's Move It'. As well as Vernon's caber toss, he'll also be inviting some celebrity friends to join in the fun, as well as hearing from Radio 2 listeners who've embraced the 'Let's Move It' campaign over the summer.

The Bute Highland Games are held every August - on Saturday 24th this year - and feature the best a traditional games has to offer, from highland dancing to 'heavy' events to shinty to backhold wrestling - and much, much more.
