Summer Meltdown Episode 5: The Kids Are Alright
Steven looks at the perils of growing up, how a baby's brain works, and some classic 80s TV shows.
Steven explores the idea of growing up, as his two year old daughter teaches him a thing or two about how language works.
Do you remember the kids TV shows of the 70s and 80s? If so, you were probably traumatised by them, and Steven speaks with Stephen Brotherstone and Dave Lawrence, the pair behind the 'Scarred for Life' series of books to revisit some old favourites.
Professor Victoria Simms is also on hand to explain the science behind how a developing brain works, while TV psychologist Honey Langastewr-James tells us how Harry Potter's spells are an ingenious way of encouraging children to work on their pronunciation.
