Reggae Reissue Special

Jamz hosts a special show exploring reissued Reggae, Dub and Lovers Rock Music with Wrongtom, Dubplate Pearl, Linett Kamala, Chris O'Brien, Mikey (Channel One) and King Jammy.

Jamz is hosting a special show that explores the worlds of reissued Reggae, Dub, and Lovers Rock music, both digitally and on vinyl. The show features interviews with Producer & Writer Wrongtom, who discusses the various labels putting out great re-issues. Additionally, Jamz chats with Greensleeves’ A&R Chris O’Brien, who talks about the history of Greensleeves and VP Records, and their approach to re-issuing their back catalogue. Jamz also visits Lion Vibes Record store in Brixton, South London, where Dubplate Pearl talks about her personal experience as a female record collector and working in Soundsystem, and shares some of the best 7" Reggae Records available today. Moreover, Linett Kamala, the Board director of Notting Hill Carnival, and one of the curators of Beyond the Bassline: 500 years of British Black Music at the British Library, discusses the importance of looking back to move forward. Lastly, Mikey from Channel One Soundsystem speaks about curating a compilation album featuring tracks that the Channel One Soundsystem has played over the years, and King Jammy speaks of his legacy and the classic music which is currently being re-issued.
