Winter fuel allowance and 21st Century Folk
Jeremy discusses the winter fuel allowance, the Southport knife attack in which two children have been killed, the 2024 Olympics and 21st Century Folk.
Jeremy discusses the withdrawal of the winter fuel allowance from around ten million pensioners, the Southport knife attack in which two children have been killed, and the 2024 Olympics. Also, he showcases 21st Century Folk, a brilliant Radio 2 initiative where legends of folk write and perform songs inspired by five people who have a powerful connection to the sea. Today, we hear from the expedition kayaker Jeff Allen, who lives much of his life at sea. A former soldier, he dedicated himself to boat-building and kayaking as a way to find peace. Singer-songwriter Cara Dillon and her musical partner Sam Lakeman write and perform a song for him.
