This week radio legend Tony Blackburn celebrates 60 years in radio - he first broadcast on Radio Caroline on 25th July in 1964. Having introduced Motown to British radio in 1964 and being such a huge champion of it, Tony will mark his remarkable six decades on the show tonight by playing some of his favourite Motown hits.

Tony鈥檚 anniversary was celebrated across Radio 2 shows on Thursday 25th July, including Gary Davies (in for Vernon Kay, 9.30am-12pm) doing a special edition of his De Ja Woo feature where he invited listeners to share their memories of Tony who joined Gary in the studio, and he chatted about his incredible broadcasting career on The Jeremy Vine Show (12-2pm). And on yesterday鈥檚 Sounds of the 60s, Tony played two hours of the best music from the summer of 1964, when he was just 21 years old.
