Theon Cross picks his Flowers
Tuba player and composer Theon Cross selects unsung heroes and living legends to celebrate. Plus, a premiere of a new track from pianist Raffy Bushman.
βRound Midnight is presented by award-winning saxophonist Soweto Kinch. This weekday late-night show celebrates the thriving UK jazz scene and spotlights the best new music alongside incredible acts from past decades.
British tuba player and composer Theon Cross is Soweto's guest this week. He has been a key part of the London scene for the past decade, both as a solo artist and as a member of bands like Sons of Kemet, and is performing at the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Introducing Prom this Saturday, at The Glasshouse in Gateshead.
Theon will be taking part in Flowers - a part of the show which gives artists the chance to celebrate fellow musicians - contemporaries, unsung heroes and living legends. His first bouquet goes to a fellow tuba player - the US great Bob Stewart.
Plus, there's a premiere of new music from UK pianist Raffy Bushman.
