Fine antiques abound on today’s Bargain Hunt, when Charlie Ross tours a Georgian townhouse, now a museum in the heart of York. Fairfax House is packed full of exquisite furniture, lavish clocks and valuable works of art.
At Wetherby Racecourse, the red and blue teams have just £300 each to find three items. Shopping with expert Izzie Balmer are married couple Angela and Lee; they reckon they’re 'natural born winners'! David Harper captains the blues, who are mother and daughter-in-law Jean and Emma. According to them, 'there’s no debate' who is going to win today’s contest!
A stall of antique stopwatches catches Lee’s eye, but Angela doesn’t think they’ll tick off their challenge. Meanwhile, David has to crack the whip when Emma takes a fancy to an old riding crop.
Ultimately, the teams’ fates lie in the hands of auctioneer James Lewis when he tries to sell their items for a profit at his sale in Derby.
