In September last year, Craig Mackinlay – the Conservative MP for South Thanet – was diagnosed with Sepsis, a serious medical condition also known as blood poisoning. The days that followed were critical. It was touch and go whether he would survive. He was placed into an induced coma with multiple organ failures. Eight months on and he’s on the road to recovery, but his life has changed significantly after undergoing extreme surgery.
