Reporting Gaza: My War

Gaza reporter Adnan El-Bursh’s video diary sheds light on the immense challenges faced by Palestinian journalists in Gaza as they report on their war-torn homeland.

International journalists have not been allowed to enter Gaza to cover the impact of the war on the local population. This duty has fallen on the shoulders of Palestinian journalists, in a war that has claimed the lives of more than 100 journalists, 22 of whom were killed in the course of their work, according to RSF.

Amid relentless Israeli bombardment, supply shortages and communication blackouts, Gazan journalists have faced extraordinary risks daily since the war started.

The film unveils previously unseen footage capturing the raw emotions and untold stories of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Arabic's reporter in Gaza, Adnan El-Bursh, as he and his team navigate their personal lives and journalism amidst the turmoil of the war.

Adnan provides a deeply personal perspective, sharing video diaries he recorded in Gaza, complemented by exclusive footage from his team.

The film follows Adnan and the team as they flee their homes and office in Gaza City and operate from a makeshift tent in Khan Younis, all the way through to their escape to Rafah and then finally to safety in Qatar.

These intimate moments offer a glimpse into the immense challenges faced by Gaza’s journalists, as they tirelessly document the unfolding tragedy.

The war in Gaza started on 7 October when the Palestinian militant group Hamas launched an assault on Israel. According to Israeli tallies, 1,200 people were killed and more than 250 were taken to Gaza as hostages.

More than 34,000 Palestinians in Gaza have been killed in air and artillery strikes carried out by the Israeli military in response, according to the health ministry in Gaza.
