Port Sunlight
Charlie and Chris are in Port Sunlight to transform Emma and Nathan’s scruffy cottage garden into a Balinese paradise.
Emma and Nathan would love to transform their scruffy cottage garden into a Balinese paradise. Nathan has recently retired from the army and has a new job working from home, and Emma is a busy nurse. Having spent the pandemic indoors, they would love an outdoor escape – a tropical oasis, complete with lush planting and water feature. It’s a unique garden concept that will completely break the mould of the traditional gardens that surround them – quaint homes and gardens that were built before the First World War by the Lever family for the Port Sunlight Soap Factory workers.
With a budget of £6,000, Charlie and Chris face the challenge of crafting this 'unexpected' garden. However, the Grade II listed home presents several tricky challenges. How will the designers work around the restrictions as to what they can and can’t do in their garden?
