Can We Schnittfix It

Liza's in the market for favourite facts and stories. And the collective delivers. From the MP who kept a pet wasp, to a beloved bread-slicing knife named Schnittfix II.

Liza opens with a tune from Eddie Fisher (father of Star Wars royalty) and enmity is forgotten, as both Chewbacca and Darth Vader take to the ice rink. May the fourth be with ALL of you.

The collective is tasked with telling Liza something she doesn’t know and where better to start than with Sir John Lubbock. The MP who gave us bank holidays (thank you, Sir John) and whose pet wasp can still be seen in the Natural History Museum. And we learn about an iconic knife named Schnittfix II - an object of desire for fans of uniformly sliced bread and 1960s German design.

The holiday playlist includes a 2014 Elvis remix, a favourite ABBA cover from The Real Tuesday Weld, and a rare bit of Memphis soul from Percy Milem. We also revisit Alanis Morissette’s best-selling album, and make room for Gloria Gaynor and the (not so) Average White Band.
