Guy Garvey chooses his Tracks Of My Years
Elbow frontman Guy Garvey chooses his Tracks Of My Years all this week. Plus there’s Album and Record Of The Week, another dive in to Vernon's Vault and more Ten To The Top.
Elbow frontman - and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ 6Music presenter - Guy Garvey chooses his favourite Tracks all week in Tracks of My Years
After two and a half decades in the industry, Guy Garvey and Elbow have just released their tenth album, Audio Vertigo. Along the way they’ve garnered a host of awards, including a BRIT, a Mercury prize, and multiple Ivor Novello songwriting awards.
They performed at the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony and were granted the freedom of their hometown of Bury. They’ve played Glastonbury around 10 times according to Guy, with at least four of those appearances on the coveted Pyramid Stage and recently they were a smashing success in Radio 2’s Piano Room.
Guy's first two tracks come from The Stranglers and Doves.
There'll also be more audio nuggets from the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Archive in Vernon's Vault; there's Record and Album Of The Week and and two more contestants try their luck in the mid-morning music quiz, Ten To The Top.
Whatever you're up to, Vern wants to hear from you - email vernon@bbc.co.uk - and if you’d like to apply to take part in Ten To The Top, the address you need is tentothetop@bbc.co.uk
