Tom Service talks to leading clarinettist Anthony McGill

Tom Service plays the best classical playlist, with familiar favourites alongside hidden gems and new discoveries. Tom's guest, Anthony McGill plays live for Saturday Morning.

Leading clarinettist, and ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Proms 2024 soloist, Anthony McGill, joins Tom to play live in the studio before he flies back to America to his day job at the New York Philharmonic. As well as a fantastic classical music playlist, we have news reports from Bristol-based choral project 'Sing For Happiness' with choir leaders Natalie Cooper and Wendy Sergeant, plus Samir Savant, the CEO of St George's Bristol and researcher Kat Branch. Tom answers the questions about music you've always wanted to ask ; this week 'can we truly be 'tone deaf'?', finding out the answers from music teacher George Bevan and Professor Lauren Stewart. Tom is also joined by tenor Matthew McKinney, the brand new winner of the Kathleen Ferrier award, fresh from the competition final at London's Wigmore Hall last night.
