Visual artist and horticulturalist Mairi Gillies moved to the island of Lewis five years ago. A year after purchasing a new home on the island, a former school and schoolhouse, Mairi is ready to develop her garden - a large space in need of some TLC. Although Mairi is an experienced grower, gardening on a Hebridean island with its unique weather challenges is a new eperience for her.
We follow her through the growing season as as she seeks advice and inspiration from other passionate gardeners and creates a unique growing space on a limited budget, while keeping her carbon footprint as low as possible.
