Internationally renowned Mezzo-Soprano Karen Cargill joins the Scottish Chamber Orchestra to perform Berliozβs The Death of Cleopatra, illustrating the final moments of the Egyptian queen. Karen shares why this piece is one of 'the most extraordinary pieces' sheβs ever heard. Jamie MacDougall shares performances from the semi-finals of ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Scotlandβs Young Classical Musician 2024, with accordionist Melia Simonot playing Rameau, violinist Emma Baird performing Applemania and pianist Alberto Alonso Sanchez with music by Granados. And ahead of the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ SSOβs concert this week we hear the orchestra with Brucknerβs final mighty work, his deeply spiritual Ninth Symphony.
