Although the crews of the RNLI know the perils around their coasts, many seaside visitors already need rescuing by the time they become apparent.

In Queensferry, an American visitor is caught out by the tide and is barely conscious when he鈥檚 dragged from the water. In Portishead, on the Severn Estuary, a man鈥檚 leap from a party boat lands him in serious trouble.

On the south coast of Cornwall, the Lizard crew race to the rescue of four people who are stranded on some rapidly submerging rocks. And just along the coast, in Fowey, a video clip arrives at the lifeboat station of a yacht that is in danger of breaking up on the rocks - with no sail, no mast and no sign of anyone on board.
