Michael Garrick Trio’s Music For Shattering Supermarkets turns 60

Soweto Kinch picks the best jazz with a special focus on new music from the UK. This week's guest on 'Flowers' is pianist Fergus McCreadie.

Radio 3’s new late-night jazz show settles into the second week of broadcast. Presented by Birmingham-based saxophonist Soweto Kinch, it showcases new UK jazz and shares the best music from across the world – new and old.

This week’s guest is Fergus McCreadie, who was nominated for the Mercury Prize for his album Forest Floor, which combines jazz with the melodies of Scottish folk. He’s been handing out respect and recognition to the living legends and unsung heroes of jazz. Today, it’s the turn of the Alan Benzie Trio.
