Arod Quartet
Live from London's Wigmore Hall, the Arod Quartet perform Bach's Herzlich tut mich verlangen, Haydn's 'Emperor' Quartet, and Attahir's Al' Asr, which they premiered in 2017.
Founded in 2013 and named after a character in Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings, the French ensemble has made a steady rise to eminence through numerous competition successes and as Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 3 New Generation Artists (2017-19). Their programme includes Haydn's 'Emperor' Quartet, whose second movement features a noble theme that was later adopted for the German national anthem; and a piece by French composer Benjamin Attahir (b. 1989) that takes inspiration from a Muslim afternoon prayer.
