Episode 2
Two novice kayakers, Tessa Fleming and Irial Ó Ceallaigh, nervously prepare to take on one of Ireland’s most daunting and precarious sea crossings.
Tá ár mbeirt tosaitheoirà cadhcála Tessa Fleming agus Irial Ó Ceallaigh ag réiteach go neirbhÃseach le tabhairt faoi cheann de na turais farraige is scáfaire agus is contúirtà in Éirinn. Tá cuma éasca ar an phasáiste gearr chuig na h-oileáin atá i ndeas do chósta Mhachaire Rabhartaigh, lena gcuid pluaiseanna áille rúnda, i gcomparáid leis na rollóga toinne gan staonadh ar an bhealach amach go Toraigh.
Faigheann ár láithreoirà amach faoi chultúr Gaelach an oileáin agus i ndiaidh oÃche chodlata briste agus trasnaithe eile treascraigh, tá faoiseamh mór orthu an tÃr mór a bhaint amach an athuair. Leanann siad leis an turas le cuairt ghasta ar Chaisleán na dTuath a sheasann go maorga ar bhruach Chuan na gCaorach agus le stopadh thar oÃche ag teach solais Ãocónach Chionn Fhánada.
Two novice kayakers Tessa Fleming and Irial Ó Ceallaigh nervously prepare to kayak one of Ireland’s most daunting and precarious sea crossings. A short passage to the inner islands off the coast of Machaire Rabhartaigh, with their stunning sheltered caves, looks easy compared to the unrelenting, rolling waves to Tory island.
The presenters find out about the Gaelic culture of the island and, following a disrupted sleep and another treacherous Atlantic crossing, they are relieved to arrive back on the mainland. The onward journey continues with a quick visit to the stunning Doe Castle in Sheephaven Bay and an overnight stopover at the iconic lighthouse at Fanad.
