Mark and Lard choose their Tracks Of My Years
Radio legends Mark and Lard - AKA Mark Radcliffe & Marc Riley - choose their Tracks Of My Years. Plus a new Album and Record Of The Week and more Ten To The Top.
Radio legends Mark and Lard - AKA Mark Radcliffe & Marc Riley - choose the songs that soundtrack their lives all this week on Tracks Of My Years.
Hailing from Bolton and Manchester respectively, Mark Radcliffe (Mark) and Marc Riley (Lard) met on Â鶹ԼÅÄ Radio 5 Live in the early 90s when Radcliffe was presenting the show ‘Hit North’. Riley started as a researcher before moving up the ranks and eventually joining Radcliffe as co-presenter.
The duo became known for their various catchphrases, characters and comedy sketches when they transferred to Radio 1 in 1993, presenting the late-night weekday show before a stint on the Breakfast Show followed by years in the early-afternoon slot. The duo remained on afternoons till 2004, when they went their separate ways.
After two decades, Mark and Lard are reuniting for a special show live-streamed from The Bowden Rooms in Altrincham before bringing their ‘An Audience With Mark & Lard’ to venues in the UK this Autumn.
There'll also be more audio nuggets from the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Archive in Vernon's Vault; there's a new Record and Album Of The Week; and it’s a brand new week for the mid-morning music quiz, Ten To The Top.
Whatever you're up to, Vern wants to hear from you - email vernon@bbc.co.uk - and if you’d like to apply to take part in Ten To The Top, the address you need is tentothetop@bbc.co.uk
