Yard Act play a Sofa Session for Jo, including tracks from their brand new album Where's My Utopia? and a previously unheard cover!
Formed in Leeds in 2019, Yard Act is frontman James Smith, bassist Ryan Needham, guitarist Sam Shipstone and drummer Jay Russell. Their first album, 2022's The Overload, saw the band reach No. 2 in the album charts. It was shortlisted for a Mercury Prize and even caught the attention of Sir Elton John β€” who collaborated with the band on a re-working of their track 100% Endurance.
Where's My Utopia? is Yard Act's second album, and sees the band move away from their previous post-punk influences into a more dance-rock inspired sound. It is produced by the band alongside Gorillaz' Remi Kabaka Jr.
Following the release of the new record, Yard Act join Jo live at the legendary Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Maida Vale studios.
