Independent Venue Week, Bee Asha in session, Writer Ali Millar, Life of Pi
Nicola hears about the celebration of indie venues and the stage show headed for Scotland.
At the start of Independent Venue Week, Nicola is joined by the founder of the annual celebration Sybil Bell. Plus a live session from one of the artists performing as part of the programme – Bee Asha – who a Scottish Punjabi rapper and spoken word artist.
The stage adaptation of Life of Pi, the Booker-winning novel by Yann Martel, is coming to Scotland. Finn Caldwell is the production’s Director of Puppetry and Movement.
Ali Millar has released her debut Ava Anna Ada. It follows her memoir, The Last Days, which told about her upbringing as part of a community of Jehovah’s Witnesses in the Scottish Borders.
Plus the new Single of the Week artists - Kathryn Williams and Dan Willson - share their track with Nicola.
