Radio 2 Piano Room: Bruce Hornsby

Bruce Hornsby - the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter - kicks off Radio 2 Piano Room Month for 2024. Plus, TV presenter Emma Willis chooses her Tracks Of My Years all this week.

Bruce Hornsby - the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter - kicks off Radio 2 Piano Room Month for 2024, performing three live tracks at Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Maida Vale with the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Concert Orchestra.

Perhaps best known for his songs 'The Way It Is', 'The Valley Road' and 'Every Little Kiss', Bruce has sold 11 million albums in a career that stretches over four decades, collecting 3 Grammy Awards along the way. Initially known for his work with backing band 'The Range', he's also toured with The Noisemakers; had a bluegrass project with Ricky Skaggs, and been a touring member of The Grateful Dead.

In March Bruce will release the album 'Deep Sea Vents' under the name BrhyM, which is his collaboration with the American chamber ensemble yMusic.

Back for its third year, Radio 2 Piano Room Month sees globally-famous, award-winning artists perform three tracks - a new song, one of their well-known numbers, and an unexpected cover version - all accompanied by the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Concert Orchestra.

Plus TV presenter Emma Willis - known for The Voice, Big Brother and The Circle - is Vernon's guest this week on Tracks Of My Years. Having first come to widespread attention hosting on MTV, Emma's impressive CV also includes This Morning, Britain's Next Top Model, CD:UK, Loose Women, I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! NOW! and The BRIT Awards.

She's currently presenting 'Style It Out' on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ3, which sees nine creative fashion-loving kids from across the UK compete in a styling contest with sustainability at its core. The young designers will be hoping to win the chance to showcase their original creations at London Fashion Week. Resident judges include Ayishat Akanbi and Jorge Antonio, plus there's weekly celebrity judges including Gok Wan, Katya Jones, AnaΓ―s Gallagher and Molly Rainford.

There's also the mid-morning music quiz Ten To The Top, a trip in to the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Archive with Vernon's Vault, and the Record and Album Of The Week.
