Vernon Brings The Big Tunes

Comedian and presenter Leigh Francis - AKA Keith Lemon - chooses his Tracks of My Years. Plus the Album and Record Of The Week and another round of Ten To The Top.

Comedian Leigh Francis - AKA Keith Lemon and the man behind Bo' Selecta! – chooses another two songs for his Tracks Of My Years this week.

His first break came on Paramount Television in 1996 when Davina McCall encouraged him to do some telly after seeing him in a comedy club. He went on to play characters on Channel 4’s β€˜Popworld’ and featured what would become his Bo' Selecta! characters.

From there there’s been numerous shows, including β€˜Keith Lemon’s Very Brilliant World Tour’ β€˜Celebrity Juice’, 'The Keith Lemon Sketch Show’, The Keith & Paddy Picture Show and β€˜Shopping with Keith Lemon’. Leigh has also hosted Sing If You Can’ alongside Stacey Solomon, β€˜Keith Lemon’s LemonAid’ and a reboot of β€˜Through the Keyhole.'

Now he's embarking on his first ever live tour, β€˜My First Time’, covering 24 dates between March and April, and concluding with a run of three shows in Leigh’s hometown of Leeds.

Leigh’s two tracks today are from Simply Red and Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes

There'll also be more audio nuggets from the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Archive in Vernon's Vault; Record and Album Of The Week and the mid-morning music quiz, Ten To The Top.
