Cerys welcomes Irish blues musician Muireann Bradley to perform live in the studio!
Muireann released her debut album I Kept These Old Blues, in the month she turned 17. For the album Muireann recorded her versions of great blues tunes which were originally recorded between 1920s and 1970s by the likes of Elizabeth Cotton, Mississippi John Hurt and Blind Blake. Muireann pays homage to the simplicity that the classics of the 1920s and 1930s were recorded, with one entire live take in the studio with Muireann singing and accompanying herself on the guitar. Muireann began playing the guitar aged 9, but it was only during the first Covid lockdowns of 2020 that she found her way back to the guitar, focusing on a list of tunes she wanted to learn.
