Miguel Atwood-Ferguson on the LA Jazz Scene
Miguel Atwood-Ferguson has worked with everyone from Flying Lotus to Stevie Wonder - appearing on over 600 recordings to date. He gives us the lowdown on jazz in Los Angeles.
Miguel Atwood-Ferguson has worked with everyone from Flying Lotus to Stevie Wonder and Wayne Shorter to Quincy Jones. He has appeared on over 600 recordings and played over 2500 concerts in the past couple of decades. Given how prolific he has been, it might not be a surprise that his new album, Les Jardins Mystiques Vol.1, is 52 tracks deep and over 3.5 hours long.
To mark the release, Jamie has invited Miguel to give us the lowdown on the Los Angeles jazz scene and pick three artists who you should get to know.
Also, there's time for music from Bill Withers, Brother Jack McDuff, Fergus McCreadie, James Mason and many others!
